So Little Time, So Much To Brew

In the coming weeks, The Cannon Brew Pub will be celebrating a milestone. Soon, Brewmeister Hank will tap his 500th batch of beer! Check back next week for more on this toast-worthy event.

With all the delicious, delirium-inducing draught beer being brewed here at the Brew Pub, it’s easy to forget that there are other things a-brewing in these walls.

Namely: Ginger Ale.

I can hear your litany of questions.

Yeah?

And?

So?

What?

Look, no one is suggesting you come to the Cannon for Monday Night Football and order a round of ginger ales for your buddies.

They’d be liable to take you out back for a “talking to.”

However, besides it’s uncanny ability to overturn upset stomachs and take the mickey out of motion sickness (which could come in handy when you’re deep in the real ales), it actually goes right nicely in an assortment of Adult Beverages.

The advent of railroads is one of the most significant moments in America’s Industrial Revolution. Not only did the railroads allow America to discover itself, they also enabled us to discover that when you put liquor in a glass with soda, it is really, really good.

Railroad at that time was a hurry-up-and-wait affair, so in the intervening moments of boredom, the workers would hoist a ball high onto a pole, signaling “clear track ahead.” When the ball went up, the workers went down to the pub.

The most popular drink:

The Highball.

Whiskey and Ginger Ale.

Next time your track clears, give it a shot.

And lest you think it too frou frou, might I ask how many railroads have you laid lately?
