The dog days of summer are here again, and it’s hot outside. Really hot. 100 years ago local folks would head over to Weracoba Park where they would climb into boats and coast from tiny island to tiny island, catching shade beneath arched bridges and swimming in the lake. Those were the days.

Or so I’ve read.

These days, the only bodies of water to be found at the “newly” christened Lakebottom Park are the man-made canal and the puddles that gather in the creases of your clothes. Why not avoid the heat and embarrassment of soggy shirts and shorts and come down to the Cannon Brew Pub, where we are now pouring our seasonal Lakebottom Summer Ale, a cool refreshing wheat ale with a light citrus finish. You may not be able to float lazily around Lakebottom Park anymore, but you can always belly up to the bar and lazily float our kegs. Stay classy, Columbus. And thanks for stopping by.
